The Essay Title is: “Building my Career Strategy for Life after Bryant.”

Your essay should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5″ x 11″) with 1″ margins on all sides. This essay should be between 700 and 800 words. But it can be a little longer as well if needed.

In this essay, I would like for you to talk about what you are currently doing to build your future career strategy based on your knowledge of Chapter 5 concepts.

The elements of your career strategy outlined in the paper should include your choice of major, minor, your selection of courses, finding a mentor, networking, previous work experience that has influenced you, and other activities at Bryant to prepare you for the future including internships, etc.

You must use concepts from Chapter 5 as well as your own creative thinking to map out a strategic plan for your career.

Explain clearly what your career goals are and how you plan to achieve these with a focus on actions that you have already taken in this regard and what you are planning to do in the near future.

When you are done with the career strategy paper, show your paper to someone who is in the field of your interest that you trust (it can be a parent, uncle, aunt, mentor, former or present supervisor, or a professor) and have them make a few comments at the end of the paper about your strategy (5-6 lines) giving their feedback to you. This is a very important part of the take-home essay. The name and contact information of the person providing the feedback should be given in the essay.

Getting feedback on your career strategy is an important component of this project. If you don’t do this, you are likely to get a low grade on the essay.

The person who gives you feedback can be the same person that you will be interviewing for your Job Analysis Paper but does not have to be.

This Midterm take-home essay is a significant part of your class grade and is an easy way to improve your overall performance in class.

You will be submitting your career strategy essay via “SafeAssign” on Blackboard. I will send you the instructions for that.
